History of the CostCalc 4.4 system
The original 1987 version of this software was intended by the UK Government’s Department of Trade and Industry to help small and medium-sized ‘Start-up’ companies in the electronics sub-contract industry by ensuring provision of an affordable, basic cost-estimating system.

 

Since then software has been developed privately to become one of the most sophisticated and accurate costing systems available for all sizes of company and a wide range of products, but the policy of ‘affordability’ has remained. For this reason the product has to be offered on the basis of user ‘self-help’ wherever possible. Important new features have been added to improve accuracy compared to conventional methods.
